Per family tradition my mom made Nico's blessing gown. My mom used some of the leftover silk that my wedding dress was made out of to make Nico's dress. To fasten the closure in the back we used some little shell buttons that belonged to my grandmother. A nice little touch I think. I love the little pin tucks, the peter pan collar, and the crinkly sound that the dupioni silk makes.

blessing
We had Nico's blessing yesterday. There were lots of people in attendance, parents, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and aunts. We were really grateful that people made the trek up here so early in the morning. Nico cried before and after the blessing but during she quietly looked around at everyone.

She's so cute! Already looking so mature! That dress is beautiful!
Funny that Mike was the only one ready in that last picture! Those kind of family pictures are the best though.

I love the dress! She is just darling! :-)
that's really special Bille. Especially that is is partially made from material of your wedding dress.
She's a dolL!
that sounds weird. I meant same material, not 'your wedding dress'
