Fabric

I am really liking this lavender headboard.  Could I put that on my couch?  Or maybe the natural one with some lavender throw pillows?  There are too many good fabrics out there.  What I really want is all this natural light.

Laughing

Last night I was laughing in my sleep.  I woke Mike up because I was laughing so loud, "What are you laughing at?  Are you awake?"  I remember dreaming about a cockroach (gross) that was wearing a wig.  I guess that is sort of funny.  Not really though.

In The Works

Sometime last month Mike and I were doing a little Sunday drive through the city when I spotted some abandoned furniture on a street corner.  Darling man that he is, Mike turned around, helped me rummage through the pile of stuff, and load a couch frame into the car.  I know it looks ugly now, but with a little love I hope it will look like this.

Do you see the resemblance?  Do you see the potential?  And the couch fits perfectly into the strange little nook in our bedroom under the window.  Today I cut the foam, one cushion for the seat and one for the back.  I need to go to an upholstery store and get some of those spring/cord seat things.  Next I need to decide on fabric.  I am thinking a natural colored linen. We will see.  Stay tuned.

Mommy and Me

This post title kinda creeps me out, whatever.  My mom came up last Friday.  We went to the Palace of the Legion of Honor and the de Young.  Lovely.

Bad News

Just thought I'd let you know (it is all over blog land) Domino is going under.  First Blueprint now this.  If Dwell goes under I am killing myself.

Pants

Mike really hates buying new clothes for himself.  He hates the dressing rooms, looking through racks of clothes, or feeling rushed.  Our friend tipped us off about the in-store sale at Banana Republic, lots of clothes for cheap.  After work I popped into BR and got five pairs of pants, ranging from $13 to $50.  Mike is keeping three pairs of pants.  A job well done.  Mike likes having a personal shopper, and he did not have to go into any dressing rooms.  He was very happy.  And now my favorite jeans ad.

New CD

I can't recall the last time I purchased a new CD.  We do listen to new music around here (Mike can find almost anything on the internet for me) but you know what I mean, you go out and get the CD because you can't wait to hear it, you are just that excited.  We saw Mia Riddle last night thanks to Rob and Sharon.  It was totally worth listening to the two forgettable bands that proceeded her show, it was worth going to bed at 2:00 am.  She was really great live.  And now I've got hair inspiration again.

Some Catching Up

So Bille and I have been slacking on putting anything up on the blog, so there are a lot of pictures taken that need to be posted. On New Year's Day we decided to take a little trip to get out of the city. On a whim, we chose to go to Santa Barbara. Nice place. Being winter, there was a laid back vibe and not a lot of people. On the way back home, we stayed in San Luis Obispo so we wouldn't have to drive all the way home at once. Overall, it was a nice relaxing weekend.

BTW, besides the pictures of Bille or a sunset, Bille most likely took the picture.

Out With The Old In With The New

Happy New Year to all! We were pretty quiet last night, we walked over to the Embarcadero to watch the fireworks and then walked home. We are driving down to Santa Barbara today, so we have lots of time in the car for fine tuning our new resolutions.

My Muse

I am my own muse. Actually, I was just bored and I don't have anyone else to photograph. Bille is usually not willing so I have a lot of pictures of myself. I used two flashes off camera for these pictures. One through an umbrella camera left and another behind me camera right.

My gift to you, me. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Came Early...

for me. Bille let me buy a new camera (not that I actually needed her permission, I mean, I'm the man of the house, right?). Finally took it for a spin today around S.F.

Day in San Francisco

Today Bille and I went for a walk in the city. We didn't really have any plans on where we were going except that we would walk to North Beach. We went up the Embarcadero and then climbed the stairs to Coit Tower(which was not easy). On the way up we saw the famous "Parrots of Telegraph Hill" squaking it up and flying around. Kind of cool to see wild parrots flying around SF. We walked around North Beach and I blew a great photo opportunity of a woman scrubbing a red floor in a laundromat. The lighting and colors were perfect but I chickened out. I came back 15 minutes later and it was too late. We just walked around and stopped in a few stores and came back home through the financial district. We should have made plans so we could have done more, but it was nice to get outside on a really nice day.

Who Knew...

Food fights could be so political.

Explanation here.

Snow in San Francisco?

Well sort of.  I snapped these pictures with my camera phone on the way home from a meeting last night.  On further inspection, i.e. handling the stuff, it seemed to be lots of hail stones that never melted from earlier in the day.  Needless to say it was cold yesterday, and Winter is here.
